SAN VICENTE AIRPORT OPENS AFTER MULTI MILLION EURO UPGRADE.

Sao Pedro Airport, on the Cape Verdean island of Sao Vicente, has been reopened after three years of refurbishment work worth over US$40 million.

The new terminal, which started operating in September of last year, has an area of around 11,000 square metres, covering three floors, with capacity to deal with 500 passengers an hour.

The runway at Sao Pedro airport can receive Boeing B737, B757s and Airbus A310, A319 and A321 aircraft.

With the inauguration of Sao Pedro Airport, Cape Verde now has four international airports on the islands of Sal, Santiago, Sao Vicente and Boavista.
