Brava Area Guide

Brava is the smallest inhabited island in the archipelago at just over 24miles square and is found at the southern most point of Cape Verde in the lee of Fogo Island.

It is known for its rich assortment of flora and fauna is often referred to as the 'island of flowers' and contrary to Sal, in Brava you will see hardly any tourists.

Most of the towns and villages in Brava are located in the mountains - where the climate is cooler (averaging 23C to 25C) and damper and this allows the island to be the greenest of the Cape Verde Islands.

There are ferries from Santiago and Fogo to travel to Brava. There is no airport at present.
