From December 2019 Cabo Verde Airlines will begin nonstop service between Washington Dulles International Airport and Sal.Starting Dec. 8 there will be three flights a week — Sunday, Wednesday and Friday — departing at 8 a.m. Cape Verde standard time which will take travellers from Sal Amílcar Cabral International Airport to Washington Dulles by 12:45 p.m. EST. Flights departing Dulles at 7:45 a.m. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday will land in Sal at 6:40 p.m.
Boston Logan International Airport is the only other airport in the United States to offer direct flights to Cape Verde.
"As the only airline offering nonstop service between the National Capital Region and Cabo Verde, Cabo Verde Airlines will provide travellers with unprecedented accessibility to the country's popular leisure destination, as well as convenient connections to West Africa, South America and beyond," Yil Surehan, vice president of airline business development for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, said in a statement.
